About Our Materials Every Vessel is made with archival materials sourced from the best mills in the world. Our 100gsm dot grid paper comes from Japan. Our 160gsm mixed-media paper comes from France. Each notebook is sewn with 4-ply linen thread from Belfast, Ireland. These aren't arbitrary choices—we selected materials that perform beautifully and last decades.
After cutting and binding, each cover is individually burnished by hand with a touch of beeswax. This traditional finishing technique gives the cardstock a luxurious, tactile feel and helps it age with character.
The paper won't yellow. The binding won't fail. Your ideas will remain exactly as you recorded them—whether you open this notebook next month or in thirty years.
Hand-sewn bindings lie flat and hold their structure through heavy use. Single-section construction follows traditional bookbinding methods that have preserved ideas for centuries.
We make these one at a time. Each one is a small act of resistance against impermanence.
